Apartment!

So this weekend I decided to stay in Munich and sort my life. I needed it. There were boxes from my air freight in my tv room and piles of clothes chilling on the floor. Time to actually move in, I think. Friday night I went to ikea to get some essentials. The bed in my apartment is like a double in the sense that there are actually two mattresses in the bed. Wicked weird, European thing I guess. But there were also two single comforters on the bed. It was kinda weird, I didn't really know what to do with them. So instead, I bought one large comforter. I also bought sheets and towels and things. The apartment came with everything, but I wanted my own stuff.

After cleaning and arranging everything this weekend, I finally took some pictures to show what my apartment looks like. I was looking at the pictures this morning and realized I need some practice with the iphone camera. All the pictures are a little fuzzy, I'm sorry. I think they look a little better now that they are compressed. So the apartment has a yellow and orange thing going now, which is good. But I bought a purple comforter haha. It doesn't match, but its purple. And I like it haha.

New comforter with an appearance of Dora :)

Desk and view to the Street (with finger haha)

And you woke me up whyyyyyyy?
I think the bedroom looks pretty good now. The wall you can't see is covered in closets, where I sucessfully got all my clothes and shoes in. Boo yeah! Bathroom I just added my towels and cleaned up the kitty area. I got another litter box in attempts to not have kitty litter all over my apartment. This one might work a little better. It is litter box #8 though, I change their litter box more then some people change their sheets I think haha. Poor kitties!

Yep, the bathroom. More views to the street.

The washer and Dryer!! WOOO!
I successfully did like 3 loads of laundry this weekend. I am quite proud of myself. I am quite lucky to have a washer and dryer I should mention. A lot of people have the community ones in the basement. I didn't really have to add anything to the living room/tv room/dining room/kitchen haha. I did add the teal pillows because the other pillows were weird and didn't match. I also have a pretty awesome balacony that I have yet to use sadly. It's been raining like everyday here, I swear! I think everytime it gets close to drying out there, it starts to rain again. Oh well. I really like how I can see a tree when I look outside. Sometimes makes me forget I live in the middle of a city.

Tree! haha
So thats my apartment ... I think its pretty nice. And believe it or not, I dont think its much smaller then my apartment in Greenville (minus the wicked awesome walk in closet I had ... tear). It's right near this great street named Leopoldstrasse and there are a ton of restaurants and stores and things to do there.

Okay, in case you were wondering where he was ...

I also saw Harry Potter this weekend- in marathon form! I went to this theater that plays movies in their original langauge and saw both parts of the Deathly Hollows. Very good movie, and of course, I loved it! It was interesting, I started thinking about when the first movie came out and even when I started to read the books! It's been over 10 years I think. I remember seeing the first movie with the Gavas at the CP movie theater and now here I am watching the last one in Germany! Little crazy haha. Aww tear.

Happy Monday!

Trip One: Griechenland

Soo now I've been to two countries other then the USA- Germany and Greece! Wow, they both start with G's, random. Anywho, I went to Greece this past weekend with my friend Brittany and it was pretty awesome. We flew into Athens Friday night and entered the world of betas and sigmas. We didn't stay there long, hopped on a ferry to take us to Santorini Island. Yep, a Greek Island (Abba songs have just entered my head... oh mamma mia). It was an overnight ferry, which was quite interesting. We found a nice pair of chairs to make "beds" out of, and I am using that word loosely haha. A few Dramamine later and I was able to get a few hours of sleep. We arrived to Santorini at 8 am and thought, okay now what?! I should mention Brittany and I left Munich with no plans or confirmations. No plans, just go.

Santorini is one of the greek islands where the buildings look like they are going to fall off the cliffs they are perched on. Think of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants with the donkeys walking up the stairs and you've got Santorini. We got a hotel in the main city, Fira or Thira, still don't know what its name actually was haha. We took a wicked windy road to get to the top of the cliffs. Then we checked into our hotel and got an amazing breakfast. I got a chocolate and banana crepe, Mmmmmmm. We decided to take a boat tour to volcano on the island next to Santorini. It last erupted in 1950, and remains a dormant volcano. We had to take cable cars to get down to the port, again, HUGE cliffs. So then we sailed to the volcano and also some hot springs. The water was a beautiful, aqua blue. We almost took the donkeys back up the cliffs, but it was hot and well, they smell. No I didnt actually smell em, but hey, they're donkeys.

That night we decided to go to Oia, or Ia (again, no idea) for the sunset. It's another city on Santorini. We got some dinner at a restaurant with an amazing view. Brittany got stuffed calamari and well, I thought it looked pretty disgusting. Blehhhh. Then we found a pretty awesome spot to take in the sunset. Too bad it was still an hour away and very uncomfortable haha. So many people came to watch the sunset too. It was quite amusing to see where people would climb to find that special spot to call their own. Since ours was so awesome, people kept standing behind us and bumping into us. This was a bit frustrating and I'm pretty sure I threatened to punch everyone around us in the face at one point (no, only to Brittany, I'm not that brave). Sunset was cool, people were not. 'Twas a cluster. We somehow got out of the crazyness of AEIOU and sometimes Y and made our way to Perissa Beach.

Perissa Beach is known for its black sand, something you can even appreciate at night. There we sat on some beach chairs and looked at the ocean and stars. Brittany wanted to go swimming but I was lame and freezing haha. Sunday morning we took a ferry back to Athens.

Donkeys!

Kitty! (sideways) I will take you home, wash you and name you Fluffy!

Athens was .... hot, so very hot. It's hard to pretend you care about old stuff when its like 90+ degrees outside. But we did see some exciting things. Its crazy how they built this city around ruins. Like I'm pretty sure we saw a tunnel that was supposed to be for the subway but then they found more ruins so they stopped haha.

I think I solved equations for some of those letters in college

Greece overall was pretty interesting. You can tell they've definitely got some money issues but they seem to be surviving. It was a lot of traveling for a little beauty, but it was totally worth it. Plus I saw a donkey, legit, a donkey!

Awesome:
- Dinner served on the planes, I can't even remember the last time I got peanuts on a US plane.
- Sitting on a boat and singing "I'm on a boat AND its going fast AND..."
- My sweet new Ray Bans, best 10 euro I've ever spent! haha

Lame:
- Europeans, Personal Space and their lack of understanding each other: All I kept thinking this weekend was "Move biatch, get out the way." Seriously Luda must have wrote those lyrics after a trip to Europe because my personal space bubble was popped every 5 seconds.
- Sunburn: Ahhhh sun, why do you hate me so!?

Mamma mia ... here I go again :)

New Blog ... New City

Hmm yeah, I've had this blog for like 3 years and haven't wrote anything. I guess its time to change that. We'll see, I might get lazy again haha. Anywho, I was inspired to start this again because my friend Brittany has one and its pretty sweet. I think it will be a good way to tell people (mostly the rents) how I'm doing.

I moved to Munich, Germany this week. July 4th in an airport woo! I moved for work and I'll be here for 18 months. That's kinda a long time, but I think I'lll be okay. Plus, I'll be back in the states every few months so that should help. But omg, I already miss PB. Someone please send me JIF creamy. I saw some in the supermarket yesterday but it was like a cup! Thats all! I need like a gallon. Plus, I don't trust german PB. Do they even know what peanut butter is? I don't think sooo....

Awesome:
- New iphone!! I'm obsessed! Suck it verizon, I'm only paying like 25 euros a month.
- It's only like 70-80 degrees here- soooooooooo nice! I don't feel like I'm going to have a heat stroke like I did in South Cakalaki.
- Furnised apartment, I moved in like 2 hours after I got here.
- Kitties are liking it. Its all wood floors and Charlie was sliding around yesterday. I was dying, he needs kitten mittens (sunny reference that I hope someone got haha).

Lame:
- Wtf germany?! Its called air conditioning and deodorant. They've been around for a while.
- The German Language, nothing puts me to sleep faster.
- Jetlag, maybe I'll get a good night sleep eventually.
- Bubbly water is gross man. Where are the water fountains?
- Do I even need to mention the PB again?

Alright, later gators. I'll try to put some pictures of my apartment up soon. Happy Friday!
